Designing Timber Concrete Composite Systems (TCC) with ASSY Self-Tapping Screws

This document introduces timber concrete composite (TCC) systems and presents their characteristics, advantages and design considerations. Learn how a TCC system may be an efficient structural solution and get more in-depth technical information. This document can be used as a guide for the designer to better understand the mechanical behavior that governs timber concrete composite systems that utilize self-tapping wood screws as shear connectors. Additionally it includes the results of a research study that took place at the University of British Columbia. One of the research focuses for this testing campaign was to evaluate the performance of various TCC floor systems composed of different engineered wood products (EWP) connected to a concrete layer utilizing self-tapping structural wood screws.
