Technical Advisor for Mass Timber Structural Hardware

MTC Solutions is a successful fast-growing company that is now well established in the burgeoning mass timber construction industry. We are always looking for talented and knowledgeable people in the industry that would want to join our team. We have a particular need for a Mass Timber Connection Expert or Hardware Specialist. A Business Development Engineer that can be one of our connection advisors.

The Role:

• Use MTC Solutions’ expertise on construction hardware and mass timber connection systems to provide technical advice to structural engineers, builders, architects, and wood suppliers for some of the largest mass timber projects in North America.
• Analyze construction drawings identifying potential improvements to connection design, ease of installation, and so much more. We are delivering high-value solutions to our clients and collaborating with them on projects.
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the mass timber construction industry, mainly structural engineering firms and wood manufacturers.
• Provide a link between the internal engineering and sales teams so that we can address the increasing complexity of the support queries received.
• Follow up with clients to ensure their technical needs are resolved and maintain client records in our customer relations management system.

Requirements:

• A degree related to structural engineering or wood engineering.
• A willingness to communicate with clients and industry professionals in effort to push our business forward. Presentations, conversations, and collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented personality, self-motivated in a busy environment with the ability to prioritize, strong organizational and planning skills, all with a positive attitude.
• An ability to work independently in a remote team environment.
