Technical Advisor & Business Development Lead for Mass Timber Structural Hardware

MTC Solutions, a trailblazer in the mass timber construction industry, is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable professional to join our growing team. The dual role of Mass Timber Connection Expert/Hardware Specialist and Business Development Lead presents a unique opportunity to merge technical expertise with strategic business growth.

Your Role:

As a technical advisor, you’ll utilize MTC Solutions’ expertise to provide critical advice on construction hardware and mass timber connection systems. Working with a diverse group of structural engineers, builders, architects, and wood suppliers, you’ll contribute to some of the most impactful mass timber projects in North America.

You’ll evaluate construction drawings, suggesting potential enhancements to connection design and installation processes. As the crucial link between our internal engineering and sales teams, you’ll handle increasingly complex client queries.

As a business development lead, your proactive outreach to design professionals and industry influencers will be critical. You will foster relationships, offering technical learning sessions, roundtables, and various technical services to assist our clients on their project design journeys.

Moreover, you will drive revenue growth through business development, mentoring our existing team and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You’ll have the responsibility to disseminate valuable insights, updates, and news from our engineering department to key industry figures, ensuring our cutting-edge approach is well-recognized.
 

Requirements:

• A degree related to structural engineering or wood engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in technical sales and business development roles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to meet clients and stakeholders.
• A competitive, goal-oriented nature coupled with a credible, consultative approach.
• Team player attitude, with a strong mentoring and leadership ability.
