You are curious about an evolving sector of the mass timber construction industry with experience and expertise in building or product engineering. Everything you do is done right and reflects on your integrity. You are creative and like to find solutions for complex technical challenges.

You are looking for a role where you get to develop your skills to use while being part of a young team in a fast-paced production environment. You are just as driven to promote and sell quality products as you are to share your knowledge and elevate the team around you.

  • Monitor the compliance of the projects to ensure that industry codes and practices are adhered to, and performance standards are met. Analyzing data to write up reports and double-checking documents and design literature. Projects may include:
    • Design guide, and other technical guides (Application Engineering team)
    • Design tool (Application Engineering team)
    • White paper (Application Engineering team)
    • Technical Presentation (Application Engineering & Technical Service team)
    • Research and development on new products or projects (R&D team)
  • Perform quality control checks throughout all stages of the schedule to ensure deadlines are met, and the performance of the team is as it should be, to meet the high standards set for the projects.
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of application engineering projects, as well as providing assistance and support to other team members whenever necessary. Help other team members to fix or solve their complex problems. Analyzing problems and coming up with designs to solve them.
  • Remain up to date with practice knowledge, technology, and market need. Mentoring entry-level engineers and other colleagues.
  • Participate in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training materials for MTC, presenting difficult to understand concepts, and explaining complex technical issues.


  • Degree or diploma in civil, construction, building, mechanical or wood engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of wood construction, structural hardware, and design standards in Canada and the United States
  • Strong analytical skills and capable of simplifying complex technical concepts.
  • Technically capable, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve processes.
